ASC Working with Community Prevention Partners!

ASC and The Community Prevention Partners of Santa Cruz County

Over the past year, the Association for Standardized Cannabis has been in discussion with the Community Prevention Partners of Santa Cruz County about how we can find common goals and where our interests merge.  Recently, the ASC had a very successful meeting with the CPP where we found numerous areas where our two groups are in alignment.  These areas include:

Finding ways to mitigate youth access to and noticeability of medical cannabis that is being grown within 600 feet of schools, libraries, and youth facilities,
Developing a budget for the proper allocation of monies received through the County Cannabis Tax that include drug treatment programs, mitigation of environmental damage due to unregulated cannabis cultivation, and public outreach and education regarding youth access to cannabis,
Creating a regulatory framework for cannabis delivery services to operate within
Creating safe, secure and regulated parameters for the production of cannabis in commercially zoned areas
Finding ways to more affectively monitor the distribution of cannabis and prevent access to youth
Assessing risks associated with the production and abuse of concentrated cannabis

We are grateful for the opportunity to be working with the CPP, and believe that a relationship with them will be mutually beneficial in the years to come.
